Abstract

The proliferation of Artificial Intelligence Generated Content (AIGC) tools—Midjourney, Stable Diffusion, and DALL-E 3 being the most conspicuous examples—has precipitated something rather more serious than a mere technological upgrade in art and design practice. It amounts, we would argue, to a wholesale restructuring of industrial logic and working methods. For university-level art and design education in China and Uzbekistan, the implications are difficult to overstate. Both systems now face the uncomfortable necessity of rethinking their pedagogical foundations.
